DFS College Basketball: Friday Preview

DFS College Basketball: Friday Preview

This article is part of our DFS College Basketball series.

Another action packed day in College Basketball continues Friday with top-5 teams Gonzaga and Duke facing off in Las Vegas. It's part of a seven-game DraftKings slate that features their $10 Big Jam contest and a $2,000 grand prize. Meanwhile, FanDuel has a five-game slate that also begins at 7 pm. EST, with their main contest being the $7.77 All American and $1,000 to first.

Top Players

Darius Days, G, LSU ($8,100 DK, $7,700 FD)

Days comes in with the eighth-highest salary on DraftKings tonight but has the upside to be one of the top scorers with a pair of 40+ fantasy point games already this season. The senior has been an excellent shooter throughout his career (50 percent overall, 37 percent from three) and is finally getting his chance to shine as LSU's main contributor. He gets a good matchup against a Penn State team that allowed UMass to score 81 points and factors to be near the bottom of the Big Ten.

Alondes Williams, G, Wake Forest ($7,000 DK)

Williams found a new home in Winston-Salem after two years with Oklahoma, and he's off to a hot start with a pair of 20-point performances while also leading the team in assists and ranking second in rebounds. Tonight, the Demon Deacons get Oregon State, who has been a mess to start the season, allowing 78 and 80 points in losses to Samford and Princeton in its last two games. With that said, this should still be their toughest test they've seen thus far, so expect Wake to go with a smaller rotation and give Williams 30+ minutes.

Middle Tier

Mark Williams, F, Duke ($6,800 DK, $6,500 FD)

Williams has been as efficient as they come so far this season, averaging a massive 1.38 fantasy points per minute, and Duke will need him on the court for 20+ minutes to match up against Gonzaga's frontcourt. The 7-footer has about 50 pounds on Gonzaga's freshman Chet Holmgren, so I anticipate him being able to impose his will. Williams has already posted a 15-rebound game this season with multiple blocks in 4-of-6 outings.

Kobe Brown, F, Missouri ($6,500 DK)

Brown is the lone returning starter for Missouri this season and has flourished early on in a bigger role, leading the team in usage rate (24.7 percent), points (16.0) and rebounds (7.2). With Wichita State shooting a pitiful 38.5 percent from the field thus far, he should have a great opportunity for a double-double. Brown's efficiency showed in his last game, when he missed just one shot against an always tough Florida State defense.

Values

Ty Etienne, G, Wichita St. ($4,700 DK)

Etienne is surprisingly only the fourth most expensive Wichita State player despite leading the team in points and assists. He sat out with an illness against Tarleton State but has shown no ill-effects since with consecutive games of 38+ fantasy points. The only downside is that he'll be highly owned in GPPs, but his extremely low price tag makes him unfadeable in cash games.

DeAndre Williams, F, Memphis ($4,500 DK, $6,100 FD)

Williams is coming off his best game of the season in which he posted a double-double against a formidable opponent in Virginia Tech. The biggest risk with Williams is that he's only averaging 18.6 minutes (in a starting role) as he often gets into foul trouble, but a lot of that risk is mitigated at a $4,500 salary and a $1,600 discount compared to FanDuel. He hasn't been afraid to shoot the ball either, accounting for a team-high 29 percent of Memphis' shots when he's on the floor.
