A layup by Waters 5 1/2 minutes into the first half provided Alabama State with a lead it refused to relinquish for the remainder of the contest and helped lift the guard to his first 20-point performance in five appearances. The senior also produced four or more rebounds for a third straight outing, a team-high five assists and a game-best four takeaways in the victory. Waters now extends a streak of games having reached double figures to 10 and finds himself currently averaging 15.9 points a game in conference play as a result. He adds a well-balanced 4.4 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.8 takeaways to his totals against SWAC opponents, the latter two which leave him presently ranked in the top three for the conference in those respective categories as well.
