Thomas announced Thursday via his personal Twitter account that he has declared for the 2021 NFL Draft.
ANALYSIS
Thomas was entering his senior season at Michigan in 2020, but he won't have the chance to play after the Big Ten announced earlier this month that it cancelled fall sports. He would have had the option of playing in 2021 had the Big Ten opted for a spring season, but as one of the top cornerback prospects in the upcoming draft, Thomas will turn his focus to getting his professional career off the ground. He racked up 38 tackles (30 solo) and three interceptions during the 2019 season.

Coach Jim Harbaugh revealed Tuesday that Thomas was recently diagnosed with colitis, clouding the cornerback's availability for the 2019 season, Angelique S. Chengelis of The Detroit News reports. "If there isn't setbacks, then there will be milestones he will be able to achieve with no timeline on that," Harbaugh said, regarding Thomas' recovery from the medical issue.
