Latest Fantasy Rumors
Projected starter for Saturday
Wedgewood might start in Saturday's road game against the Kings, per Mike Heika of the Stars' official site.
ANALYSIS
Jake Oettinger is expected to start Friday versus Anaheim, so it would make sense if Wedgewood got the second half of the back-to-back. Wedgewood has a 13-6-5 record, 2.97 GAA and .899 save percentage in 27 appearances this season. LA has an impressive 32-19-11 record, but the Kings have been underwhelming at home at 13-10-7, so this might not be a bad assignment for Wedgewood if he gets the nod.

Wedgewood racked up the frequent flier miles a season ago, spending time with the Devils, Coyotes and finally the Stars. His 13-15-6 record and 3.14 GAA were nothing to write home about, but Wedgewood's .910 save percentage was quite excellent considering two of those three teams were among the worst in the entire league. Dallas re-signed Wedgewood to a one-year, $2 million contract in late June to again serve as the backup to Jake Oettinger, but as of late August, Oettinger, a restricted free agent, was yet to sign. Wedgewood's playing time in 2022-23 is entirely dependent on Oettinger's status.
