Won't return this season
Hull (knee) is expected to miss the rest of the season, Kevin Bowen of 107.5 ESPN The Fan Indianapolis reports.
ANALYSIS
The rookie fifth-round pick suffered a knee injury in his first NFL game Week 1 versus Jacksonville and went on injured reserve. While the team previously noted that Hull was making progress in his recovery, Bowen's report suggests that the Northwestern product may have suffered a setback that will prevent him from playing again in 2023. The Colts' need for Hull has been lessened after Zack Moss returned from a broken forearm Week 2 and after Jonathan Taylor returned from ankle surgery Week 5.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could benefit from injuries
Hull could be a key player out of the gate in his rookie season, as Dianna Russini and James Boyd of The Athletic report that Jonathan Taylor will have to miss at least the first four regular-season games after having been placed on the PUP list due to an ankle injury.
ANALYSIS
Hull and Deon Jackson could be the only two healthy running backs come Week 1, depending on how quickly Zack Moss is able to return from a broken arm. Even after Taylor is healthy enough to play, the 2021 NFL rushing champion may not be a lock to suit up for the Colts. Taylor had requested a trade from the Colts prior to his placement on the PUP list.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Hull, a 2023 fifth-rounder, has a chance to win a significant role in the backfield during training camp. The Northwestern product was an outstanding receiver out of the backfield with the Wildcats (55 receptions in 2022) and could fill the role of a pass-catching back to complement starter Jonathan Taylor. While Hull had a mundane yards-per-carry figures (4.1 yards per carry), that may be a byproduct of Northwestern's struggles in his senior season since he possesses 4.47 40-yard dash speed. He'll compete with Deon Jackson for the third spot on the Colts' RB depth chart.
